Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including trucks with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers to deliver freight across designated routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Plan and follow optimized delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for all shipments and route activities. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit. Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to driving, cargo handling, and vehicle operation. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving or truck driving roles with knowledge of route planning and navigation. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and handling specialized equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks. Familiarity with various truck types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers. Strong understanding of freight handling procedures with the ability to load & unload cargo safely and efficiently. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving licenses (CDL) preferred. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
