High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Deliver packages to locker systems and area desks as directed Deliver packages or items to various locations adhering to assigned routes which includes returning packages as needed (e.g. return to sender); ensure quality of package delivery for time sensitive items Load and unload sorted bins and packages into vehicles for delivery and parcel locker system Operate state vehicles by tracking daily mileage, following university vehicle safety policies, and abiding by all transportation laws maintaining a safe driving record Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of state vehicles ensuring proper cleanliness and servicing Assist with tracking package volume utilizing Quadient online portal Assist with communicating to recipients regarding package status pick-up utilizing designated software Assist with coordinating alternate routes and timetables during campus wide events, impacts and closures Maintain daily, monthly, and yearly logs of all received package volume Responsible for resolving discrepancies with package delivery coordinating with outside carriers, residents, and customers and answering inquiries regarding such items Ensure proper signatures from recipients of registered or special delivery mail and packages Responsible for receiving and sorting packages upon delivery to Housing & Residence Life receiving facility Assist in unloading packages from multiple carriers, separating items into designated areas Scan and read labels to determine correct grouping; sort parcels from conveyor belt to prepare for delivery Ensure loading area is properly equipped, clean, and free of hazards to receive shipments as directed Perform other duties as assigned, including special cleaning tasks or projects.
EXPECTED SALARY
$16 hourly
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Experience with package handling, sorting and delivery methods Working knowledge of industry standards and technology (e.g. Quadient online portal) SKILLS Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with various levels of staff Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and timeliness Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills

Must be able to work efficiently with minimum supervision, exercise appropriate judgement and personal initiative Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a multifaceted environment
