Job Summary
Perform a wide variety of activities related to the processing, storage, distribution and transport of equipment and material.
Responsibilities
Deliver equipment and material to campus department
Deliver a wide variety of items to different locations throughout the University
Follow routes and time schedule
Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
Complete work logs
Operate delivery vehicles, forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Utilize material handling equipment and/or physical hand load and unload material on delivery vehicle
Manage accountability for all items loaded, delivered, signed for and returning delivery paperwork (signed and dated) to Central Receiving, Archiving and Records, and Property Control
Develop and maintain open communication with departmental personnel to facilitate timely and efficient on campus delivery of equipment and material
Regularly check warehouse vehicles for fluid levels, proper tire pressure and cleanliness; report potential safety issues or service needs
Maintain clean and accident-free work space
Obey and enforce safety standards, policies, and procedures
Assist any staff member, faculty, student or visitor of Georgia Southern University, as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Forklift certified or obtain forklift certification within six (6) months of employment
Required Experience
One (1) or more years of related work experience
Experience in driving flatbed trucks
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Associate's Degree
Preferred Experience
Three (3) or more years of related work experience
Proposed Salary
$15.84 - $17.24 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES
Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
Ability to operate forklift, service vehicle and 2.5 ton flatbed truck with hydraulic lift
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
KNOWLEDGE
Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
SKILLS
Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
