Job Description:

Are you a reliable and hardworking individual seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while staying active? Join our team as a Courier Driver at RO Logistics, a reputable courier business specializing in the transportation of library books and other materials for the Macomb County public libraries. As a Courier Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of library materials to various locations within Macomb County. If you're an enthusiastic team player who can handle the physical demands of the job and excel in various weather conditions, we'd love to hear from you. There is one opening available. Monday - Friday in the morning. No weekends or Holidays.

MUST HAVE YOUR OWN

VEHICLE, a cargo van, transit or similar size will work. SUVs and mini vans will not suffice. This position is 1099, not employed. The route should begin between 8:30am - 9am and usually takes ~3.5 hours to finish. There are 12 stops covering 80 miles per day in Northern Macomb County.

Responsibilities:

Safely deliver crates of library books to designated locations in Macomb County. Load and unload crates, some of which may weigh 40 lbs. or more, ensuring proper handling and security of the items. Adapt to different weather conditions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety. Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups. Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the truck's safety and functionality.

Qualifications:

Must have own insured vehicle - a small box truck or cargo van is sufficient. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - CDL preferred but not required. Physical ability to lift, carry, and transport crates weighing 40 lbs. or more. •This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position. You will need to load and unload over 30 totes per day. Dependable and punctual with excellent time management skills. Ability to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or a similar role is a plus.
