Environmental Aide

Job Summary Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient, non-patient corridors, lounges, offices, and other assigned floor areas. To burnish corridors, patient rooms and other floor areas on a scheduled basis. To collect and transport trash and regulated medical waste from designated collection sites to the designated area for storage and pick-up. Essential Functions Prepare equipment and chemicals for daily use and report to assigned work area. Clean and disinfect corridor floors, lounges, nursing stations, and other assigned areas by dust mopping and wet mopping daily. Burnish corridor, patient, and other areas as per schedule. Remove trash from designated collection sites and transport to designated area. Remove regulated Medical Waste from designated collection site and transport to assigned area for storage and pick-up. Hang cubicle curtains, draperies, and shower curtains as needed. Assist in moving of furniture as requested. Maintain equipment daily and report any needed repairs to supervisor. Inspection of assigned area- report safety and patient concerns to immediate supervisor. Minimum Education/Certifications None Minimum Work Experience 1 year or more experience in hospital housekeeping

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed
