Mercer County Position Overview:
Meals on Wheels of Mercer County is hiring a part-time Driver/Courier to assist with timely and safe delivery of meals to homebound seniors during the summer months. This role is essential in ensuring uninterrupted service during peak volunteer vacation periods. When not delivering meals, the Driver/Courier will assist with light office and volunteer-related tasks at the MOWMC office.
Responsibilities:
Pick up meals at Rider University and deliver routes to designated participant. Conduct basic wellness checks and report any participant concerns to staff. Maintain delivery records and ensure proper handling of meals. Maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with participants and volunteers. Support supplemental program deliveries (e.g., Pet Pantry, fresh produce) if needed.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to pass a background check. Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and attention to detail. Comfortable driving and delivering within Mercer County. Physically able to lift coolers or bags up to 25 lbs. Compassion for older adults and a commitment to community service. Deadline to
