Job Description
KPC Diagnostics, a medical laboratory located in McLean, VA, is part of Loudoun Medical Group, a multispecialty medical practice with over 350 providers and 2000 employees. We in search of friendly, energetic and very reliable and dependable individuals with strong interpersonal and organizational skills capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and functioning independently.
Individuals will serve two functions:
1) as medical courier to pick-up specimens from physician offices to our pathology laboratory and to deliver reports and/or supplies AND 2) as laboratory aide to laboratory supervisor, technical and administrative staff, and physicians. Work schedule from Mon-Thurs 2pm-10:30pm and Fri 12pm-8:30pm but schedule could vary some months (and rarely Saturday afternoons) to pick-up specimens from physician offices to our pathology laboratory and to deliver reports and/or supplies. Vehicle and fuel are provided by the company. Positions are available immediately. These positions offer competitive wages and an annual performance bonus and benefits. General Responsibilities as:
Medical Courier:
Drives a company vehicle to perform pick-up/delivery, as needed.
Ensures quality service is provided during each customer interaction by providing efficient and professional delivery service, answering customer questions, resolving problems or concerns and interacting in a polite and caring manner.
Operates company vehicle according to applicable motor vehicle regulations, company policy and auto insurance guidelines.
Ensures the proper upkeep and maintenance of the vehicle by conducting regular servicing and cleaning procedures.
Maintains pick-up/delivery logs and vehicle maintenance logs to document duties performed.
Accessioning cases into pathology reporting system
Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, performs routine and limited non-routine functions to aid in the preparation of histopathology samples.
Receive/collect, label and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.
Preparation and labeling of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
Responsible for clerical and other duties associated with Histology laboratory.
Ensure all company safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are maintained.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Required:
Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Valid and current driver's license; clean driving record/ must provide DMV driving recrods
Required experience: Courier, preferred but not necessary: 1 year
