OVERVIEW OF ATHENA

POSITION SUMMARY
We are recruiting for (1) individual to provide part-time support in the Facilities area and Mailroom. This role is responsible for supporting daily mail operations as well as assisting with basic facility maintenance coordination and general building support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure prompt receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail for internal and external customers in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner Process agency outgoing mail and prepare mail bundles for delivery Oversee facility and building maintenance by ensuring service requests and general upkeep tasks are completed per contract schedule with the property manager Assist with emergency management and planning activities, including fire drills, tornado drills, COOP, DRP, and resiliency planning Maintain accurate processing of mail services documentation and related paperwork Provide general administrative support as needed Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge and experience with mail distribution services, meter and delivery equipment, and basic office procedures Understanding of USPS requirements related to automated mail and delivery services Strong customer service skills Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent time management and organizational abilities Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to receive, sort, and deliver mail (incoming, outgoing, and interagency) Ability to ensure compliance with postal requirements including size, weight, and postage standards Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines consistently Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the day Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Virginia state laws Ability to transport passengers and materials safely and timely when required Ability to maintain confidentiality
Additional Requirements:
Basic handyman skills required (certification in a trade area not required) Knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) preferred Valid Virginia driver's license required
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times. Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
