Job Description
The Car Washer will wash and clean vehicles and equipment. This temporary/seasonal position will work fifteen (15) hours per week. Hours may be flexible. The Equipment Rental team is responsible for providing quality service to City departments and ensuring that the City's vehicle fleet is in optimal condition and clean at all times. This recruitment is open until filled. Applications will be reviewed on a weekly basis or as needed. These duties include but are not limited to the following: Washes and cleans vehicles and equipment. Assists mechanics as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Must have a minimum of one year of driving experience. Must pass a thorough background investigation. Must maintain a level of physical and mental fitness necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier, OR must be able to provide own transportation to and from job, meetings, and related job sites. Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be complete as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act.Ability to:
Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Interact with staff and the public in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain effective working relationship with co-workers. Learn departmental policies, rules, and regulations.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works out-of-doors in inclement weather at a dirty, wet, and/or noisy worksite. Works inside of vehicles and equipment. Often exposed to contaminants, such as abrasive cleaners. Usually wears protective clothing, such as rubber gloves, Often exposed to sounds and noise levels from equipment used to clean exterior of vehicles/equipment, such as pressure washers. Sometimes exposed to hazardous conditions, such as chemicals used in cleaning solutions.PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Hearing, speaking, or otherwise communicating to exchange information in person. Bending at the waist, reaching above shoulder or horizontally or otherwise positioning oneself to accomplish tasks. Lifting and/or carrying or otherwise moving or transporting up to 30 lbs. (occasionally).Similar remote jobs
