This position is ideal for a construction professional with a proven background managing gas station, convenience store, fuel retail, grocery store, or similar high-volume retail construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for leading all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. Extensive travel is required. Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestone and completion dates are achieved. Conduct daily site inspections and enforce safety regulations and company policies. Monitor project quality and ensure work is performed according to plans and specifications. Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays. Lead subcontractor meetings and maintain clear communication with project management teams. Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, safety records, schedules, and progress updates. Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project turnover activities. Travel extensively throughout the Southeast region as required by project assignments. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent overseeing commercial construction projects. Demonstrated experience managing gas station, convenience store, fuel retail, grocery store, supermarket, or related retail construction projects. Experience with ground-up construction, remodels, tenant improvements, and fast-track schedules preferred. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with construction management software and daily reporting platforms. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively. Preferred Experience Convenience store brands such as Circle K, 7-Eleven, RaceTrac, QuikTrip, Casey's, Wawa, or similar fuel retail environments. Grocery and supermarket construction including remodels, expansions, and ground-up developments. Fuel system coordination, canopy construction, site development, and retail buildouts. Multiple-project experience within occupied and operational retail environments.
