This role ensures all locations operate safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining company standards, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer experiences. The District Manager leads and develops Store Managers, drives sales growth, controls expenses, and supports operational excellence across all assigned locations. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management Oversee daily operations of 8-20 gas station and convenience store locations. Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Conduct regular site visits, audits, and inspections to evaluate performance and compliance. Monitor fuel operations, inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation. Implement company initiatives, promotions, and operational improvements. Financial Performance Achieve district sales, profitability, and fuel volume targets. Analyze financial reports, KPIs, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Control labor, shrink, inventory losses, and operating expenses. Develop and execute action plans to improve underperforming locations. Manage budgets and support forecasting efforts. Leadership & Team Development Recruit, train, coach, and develop Store Managers and Assistant Managers. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback. Build high-performing teams focused on customer service and operational excellence. Address employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company policies. Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives. Customer Service Promote a customer-first culture throughout the district. Monitor customer feedback and resolve escalated customer concerns. Ensure stores maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service. Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to fuel operations, food service, tobacco sales, alcohol sales (where applicable), and workplace safety. Monitor environmental compliance and fuel system regulations. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions when needed. Investigate accidents, incidents, and compliance violations. Inventory & Asset Management Oversee fuel, merchandise, and food inventory management. Ensure proper inventory controls and loss prevention practices are followed. Monitor equipment maintenance and facility conditions. Coordinate repairs, capital projects, and vendor relationships. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Experience 5+ years of multi-unit retail management experience. Experience managing gas stations, convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, or related retail operations preferred. Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability goals. Experience leading and developing management teams. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Financial analysis and budget management expertise. Knowledge of fuel operations and convenience store merchandising. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems. Physical Requirements Frequent travel within assigned district (up to 75%). Ability to stand, walk, and inspect store facilities for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond to emergencies outside normal business hours.
