Duties Safely operate a variety of medical transport vehicles Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations Manage route schedules efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs for medical appointments or other designated destinations Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients to confirm schedules, address concerns, or report issues promptly Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage in accordance with safety protocols Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle condition for reporting purposes Position Summary Sunstate Medical Transport is seeking a reliable and compassionate on-call overnight NEMT Driver to provide safe, professional transportation services to patients traveling to and from medical appointments, dialysis centers, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. This is an on-call position requiring the ability to respond and deploy on short notice during overnight hours. Key Responsibilities Safely transport passengers to and from medical facilities, including hospitals, dialysis centers, clinics, and residential care homes Assist passengers with boarding, deboarding, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices as needed Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required documentation for each transport Communicate clearly with dispatch and follow assigned schedules and route instructions Ensure vehicle cleanliness, safety, and readiness before each shift Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, company policies, and HIPAA privacy requirements Provide courteous, patient, and professional service to all passengers Requirements Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR check required) Minimum age of 21 Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service preferred Experience with wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles or stretcher transport a plus Strong punctuality and dependability — on-call availability is essential Ability to lift and assist passengers up to 50 lbs Excellent communication skills and a calm, compassionate demeanor Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience On-call differential pay for overnight availability Mileage and trip-based incentives may apply Why Join Sunstate Medical Transport?
