1099 Independent Delivery & Setup Contractor (Cargo Van/Truck Required) Velazco Events & Party Rentals West Hartford, CT Job Details Seasonal | Contract $140 - $500 a day 1 day ago Qualifications Automobile transportation Customer communication Moving Driver's License Event setup Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking reliable 1099 Independent Delivery & Installation Contractors to support our event rental operations across Connecticut. This is an as-needed, route-based contractor position . Contractors will be assigned delivery routes in advance and may choose to accept or decline each assignment based on availability. Contractors use their own cargo van, pickup truck, or box truck to complete multi-stop delivery routes with defined time windows. Work includes delivering event equipment and occasionally assisting with on-site setup. All customer-facing work is performed on behalf of our company in a white-label service model, meaning contractors represent our brand professionally during all assignments. Responsibilities Pick up event rental equipment from our warehouse in Hartford County. Load and secure equipment into your own vehicle (required: cargo van, pickup truck, or box truck) Deliver equipment to multiple customer locations per assigned route Unload and place equipment at designated delivery sites Follow assigned delivery time windows (arrival flexibility allowed within scheduled ranges) Occasionally assist with event setup (chairs, tables, tents, and related equipment) when required Ensure professional customer interaction and brand representation on-site Complete end-of-route drop-off or return instructions as assigned Maintain accuracy and accountability for completed deliveries Qualifications Must own a reliable cargo van, pickup truck, or box truck (required) Valid driver's license and proof of insurance Clean and safe driving record Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (chairs, tables, tents, etc.) Comfortable performing physical delivery and occasional setup work Strong reliability, communication, and professionalism Must pass a background check Must provide at least 2 professional references Prior delivery, moving, or event setup experience is preferred but not required Work Structure Independent contractor (1099) position As-needed work (typically 1-2 routes per week with seasonal fluctuations) Routes include multiple stops across Connecticut Assignments provided in advance and may be accepted or declined No guaranteed hours or fixed schedule Compensation Paid per route (1099 contractor) Pay varies based on route size, distance, and complexity Higher compensation for routes requiring setup or heavy equipment handling No taxes withheld Important Notes This is not a full-time position. This role is best suited for independent operators who can manage delivery routes, physical labor, and customer-facing work professionally while working under our company brand standards.
Pay:
$140.00 - $500.00 per day Application Question(s): Do you currently own and have access to a reliable cargo van, pickup truck, or box truck that you will use for this role? This is an as-needed independent contractor (1099) position with no guaranteed hours. You may receive 1-2 route assignments per week depending on demand. Are you comfortable with this type of flexible, on-demand work? Are you able to safely lift, move, and unload heavy items such as chairs, tables, and event equipment (sometimes weighing 50+ lbs)? Do you have prior experience in delivery, moving, logistics, or event setup work? Please provide 2 professional references
