The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving roles, transporting individuals who require assistance getting to and from medical appointments. Such as seniors, people with disabilities, or those with chronic health needs, in a safe, timely, and compassionate manner.
Typical job duties include:
Driving clients to and from hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, doctors' offices, and private residences. Picking up patients from homes or care facilities and assisting them in boarding and exiting the vehicle, including use of wheelchairs or gurneys if needed. Providing basic assistance and first-aid if required during transport; some positions require CPR and first-aid certification. Waiting for patients during appointments and returning them home afterward. Maintaining vehicle safety, cleanliness, and documenting vehicle inspections and trip logs. Complying with company protocols and relevant local or state transportation regulations, including documentation and reporting. Communicating effectively with passengers, caregivers, and dispatch. Providing patient care such as securing wheelchairs or gurneys and offering physical support to those with mobility issues.
Key requirements for most roles:
Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Patience, empathy, good communication skills, and ability to work independently. Physical ability to assist passengers with mobility needs, lift up to 50 lbs, push wheelchairs, and secure equipment. Able to work long hours and weekends. Passing mandatory background checks and drug screening. Must be 23yo of age This position also involves basic maintenance checks for the vehicle and completion of required documentation related to trips, and compliance.
