WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is seeking qualified and dedicated Driver/Clerkfor the Mobile Health Clinic in Public Health Services. The Driver/Clerk will transport the vehicle and staff to locations in the community where clients will be served. The Driver/Clerk will also perform general clerical duties to support the efficient operations of the mobile health clinic. The Driver/Clerk , for the Mobile Health Clinic within DHHS' Public Health Services, will transport the vehicle and staff to locations in the community where clients will be served. The Driver/Clerk will be responsible for maintenance of the vehicle and serve as a key point of contact with DHHS' facilities and IT team and County Fleet Management. The Driver/Clerk will perform general clerical duties to ensure efficient operations of the Mobile Health Clinic unit. The work requires medium physical effort such as recurring lifting, loading and unloading of materials using hydraulic lifts, hand trucks, or by pushing and/or rolling large items and materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safe driving and on time operation of the mobile clinic vehicle in all types of climatic conditions in strict accordance with specific departmental policies and procedures and State Motor Vehicle Operator's laws. Follows daily traffic reports to determine traffic congestion impacting vehicle route. Use online resources or navigation tools to obtain directions to locations where services will be provided in the community. Complies with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the operation of the mobile clinic vehicle including proficiency in operating the vehicle lift for disabled passengers to board and de-board. Receives, unloads, unpacks, and sort shipments of new supplies/materials. Receives, sorts, and distributes U.S. and inter-office mail. Maintains the general cleanliness of the vehicle. Makes visual check of and services vehicle, filling gasoline tank and checking oil and tires. Schedules appointments for periodic maintenance of vehicle, delivers vehicle to the maintenance shop, keeps records of maintenance, orders and picks up replacement vehicle as needed. Maintains records of the vehicle's daily activities, such as pick-ups, deliveries, and mileage. Performs general clerical duties, e.g., answering telephone, scanning patient records, filing, or using a computer to read and respond to emails or use office software.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience operating light automotive equipment, such as a delivery truck and/or step van.
Education:
Ability to read and write in English.
LICENSE:
Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence. High School diploma or GED. One (1) year of clerical experience in a public health or health care environment. Three (3) years of experience operating automotive vehicles up to non-CDL required specifications of Length of 40'; Width of 8'0" to 8'5"; 26,000 GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating), such as a coach style recreation vehicle (RV) and/or delivery truck. Maryland CDL Class C without accidents, points, or violations within the last 5 years.
