Summary :

Provides vocational training and support through culinary education and cooking skills to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Safely transports adults with a developmental disability to and from the Café. Oversees the training program at the Café and ensures the safety and well-being of the participants. Maintains good relationship with business partners, customers, and vendors to develop community connections. Ensures a safe and supportive working and learning environment. Provides individualized supervision based on each participant's Individual Support Plan. Upholds high standards of food quality and production to meet customer expectations. Safely transports participants to and from the bus or van as directed by the supervisor. Oversees the secure transition of participants to and from the NMT vehicle/building following their support plan and supervisor instruction. Keeps work areas clean, organized, and efficient. Engages in ongoing in-service training to enhance skills. Follows all organizational procedures and policies. Adheres to proper lifting techniques while performing job duties.

• Maintains professionalism at all times with customers to model the appropriate manner to greet customers for the participants.
• Develop, update, and provide training on menu items, manage inventory, oversee budgeting and shopping, and ensure proper food handling techniques.
• Create a comprehensive procedural manual to be kept at the Café for reference for both staff and participants.

Pay:

From $17.75 per hour
