Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver's Assistant Philadelphia, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22511377 Summary Philadelphia, PA Travel Job within 25 miles operating radius $15.00 - $15.00 per Hour 6 Months Experience High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description The Driver Assistant supports the driver in providing safe and efficient transportation services, focusing on passenger care, mobility assistance, and securement. This role is critical for stretcher trips, wheelchair assistance, and members requiring additional support. Key Responsibilities Passenger Care & Assistance Assist passengers in and out of vehicles, homes, and facilities Support wheelchair and stretcher transfers Ensure passengers are comfortable and secure during transport Monitor passengers during transport and report concerns Securement & Safety Assist with proper wheelchair securement (4-point tie-down + restraints) Help position seatbelts and shoulder restraints correctly Ensure all medical equipment (oxygen, walkers, etc.) is secured Follow all safety protocols during loading/unloading Trip Support Help verify member identity and trip details Assist with navigating facilities (hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers) Support driver with timely pickups and drop-offs Stay with vehicle when necessary during drop-offs Customer Service Provide respectful, patient-centered care Maintain a calm and professional attitude at all times Assist elderly and disabled passengers with compassion Cleanliness & Infection Control Sanitize vehicle and equipment between trips Follow hygiene and PPE guidelines when required Additional Details
