THE POSITION
The Equipment Operator A position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) gives you the chance to make a meaningful impact at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports the daily operations of the Southeastern Veterans' Center by transporting residents, materials, and supplies using a variety of vehicles and equipment. As a Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
Vehicle Operation:
Drive cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents and materials
Resident Safety:
Check and secure locking devices on residents and their equipment before transport
Material Transport:
Make local and long distance deliveries of supplies, mail, and medical items
Equipment Use:
Operate snow removal, hauling, and other equipment needed for maintenance work
Maintenance Tasks:
Complete inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
General Support:
Assist with loading, unloading, recordkeeping, and other assigned department tasks Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
