Job Description

Schedule:
Monday-Friday :
6:00am-6:00pm
Saturday:
12:00pm-6:00 pm
Sunday:
Closed Service coverage includes local and surrounding Virginia cities/counties.
Contractor Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Virginia driver's license and a clean driving record; minimum 2 years of professional driving or transportation experience required such as NEMT Driver or similar work experience Ability to successfully pass background screenings including National Criminal Background Check and National Sex and Violent Offender Check Willingness to undergo drug testing and complete any credentialing required by broker partners Must comply with ADA requirements including transporting passengers accompanied by service animals
Responsibilities:
Operate vehicles such as sedans or vans (including wheelchair accessible) to transport passengers Complete passenger pickups and drop-offs while maintaining a courteous and professional attitude Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance concerns to ensure safety and compliance standards Provide assistance to passengers with wheelchairs or other support needs while ensuring their comfort and dignity Communicate with dispatch, passengers, and staff for trip schedule coordination and the accommodation of any special passenger requirements Ensure accurate records of trips, mileage, and passenger details in accordance with company guidelines and applicable regulations Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and health regulations
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
Physically able to help passengers with movement and positioning including handling mobility equipment, and comfortable performing tasks that involve frequent movement and long periods behind the wheel Dependable and punctual with a professional approach to work Strong communication and interpersonal abilities when working with passengers and staff Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures Service-oriented attitude with a commitment to providing a positive customer experience Completion of Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity (PASS), and First Aid/CPR/AED training, or the ability to obtain these certifications.
Compensation:
Minimum pay rate is $13.75 per hour . As a 1099 NEMT independent contract driver, you are responsible for your own benefits including health insurance, retirement savings, and all applicable taxes.
