Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver, where you will play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for individuals requiring medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other non-emergency health-related travel. Your energetic and customer-focused approach will ensure passengers feel comfortable and cared for throughout their journey. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while utilizing your driving expertise and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Safely operate vehicles including wheelchair converted mini vans to transport passengers to scheduled appointments or destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed at all times. Ensure all passengers and wheelchairs are properly secured according to safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and perform routine pre- and post- trip maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal safety and performance. Communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, and healthcare providers to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every trip. Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage, ensuring comfort and safety. Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance logs. Experience Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience is highly preferred, especially within healthcare or community transportation settings. Proven experience operating buses, limousines, Uber, Lyft, EMT, commercial vehicles (CDL) such as trucks or school buses preferred, but not required. Strong communication skills, empathy, compassion and patience to interact professionally with diverse passengers and vulnerable populations and team members. Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial driving. Experience with vehicle maintenance routines and basic troubleshooting is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting passengers or handling equipment. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle requirements. Qualifications:
License:
Valid Virginia driver's license.
Driving Record:
Clean driving record (no major violations in the past 5 years).
Age:
Must be at least 25 years old.
Background:
Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Experience:
NEMT / CDL / EMT
/ Uber & Lyft experience preferred but not required.
Physical Ability:
Capable lifting, pushing, and pulling (assisting clients). How to
