Job Description

MML Transportation is seeking dependable, professional, and compassionate drivers to join our growing team serving the Northern Virginia region. This position involves transporting ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher passengers to and from medical appointments, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, dialysis centers, and other healthcare destinations. We are looking for individuals who are committed to safety, customer service, and providing dignified transportation assistance to our clients. Key Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screening. Previous professional driving experience preferred. Experience in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), patient transport, healthcare transportation, or related services is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Comfortable driving for extended periods and traveling throughout the service area. Ability to safely operate vehicles in varying traffic and weather conditions. Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and rotating on-call schedules. Essential Responsibilities Safely transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher clients to scheduled medical appointments and healthcare facilities. Provide courteous door-to-door and bed-to-bed transportation assistance when required. Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and navigating to designated treatment areas. Properly secure wheelchairs, stretchers, and mobility devices according to company and safety standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle appearance. Communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare staff, caregivers, and passengers. Follow all company policies, HIPAA/confidentiality standards, and transportation safety procedures. Utilize GPS systems, mobile applications, and electronic communication tools efficiently. Respond calmly and professionally to changing schedules and unforeseen situations. Preferred Skills Wheelchair securement experience. Stretcher transport experience. Patient assistance and transfer knowledge. Customer service experience. Defensive driving skills. Knowledge of Northern Virginia roadways and healthcare facilities. Experience working with elderly, disabled, or medically vulnerable populations. Education & Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Physical ability to assist passengers, maneuver wheelchairs, and perform safe lifting techniques. Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and excellent attendance record.
