Job Description
Better Than Yesterday Transportation (BTY)Full-Time | $16.50 - $18.00/hour Better Than Yesterday Transportation is seeking reliable, professional, and compassionate NEMT Drivers to join our team. Our drivers provide safe and dependable transportation for members traveling to medical appointments and approved destinations. This role requires excellent customer service, attention to safety, and a commitment to providing respectful transportation experiences. Job Responsibilities Safely transport ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to and from scheduled appointments Operate wheelchair-accessible vans and other company vehicles Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles as needed Safely load, secure, and unload wheelchairs and mobility equipment Properly secure passengers before vehicle movement Follow assigned routes, schedules, and dispatch instructions Maintain timely communication with dispatch and office staff Provide courteous, professional service to passengers, families, facilities, and healthcare partners Maintain passenger confidentiality and professional boundaries Report accidents, incidents, safety concerns, or passenger issues promptly Complete required trip documentation accurately and timely Perform daily vehicle checks and report maintenance concerns Maintain clean and safe vehicle interiors and exteriors Use company technology, including smartphone/GPS and scheduling applications Attend required training and maintain required certifications Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Minimum driving experience preferred Must pass required background screening Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and follow schedules Strong communication and customer service skills Professional appearance and positive attitude Must be comfortable working with individuals with varying levels of mobility needs Must be able to assist passengers with walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility devices Physical Requirements Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles multiple times per day Ability to assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles Ability to push, pull, and lift up to approximately 50 lbs. as needed for mobility equipment Ability to operate vehicles in various weather conditions Ability to work various weekday shifts including early mornings, daytime, and evenings Schedule Full-time position Availability required Monday-Friday Various shifts available based on transportation needs Driver Expectations Drivers must: Maintain a safe driving record Follow all company safety policies and procedures Maintain professional relationships with passengers Avoid inappropriate personal contact or communication with passengers outside of professional interactions Protect passenger privacy and confidentiality Why Join BTY?
