(SSC), WG-5703-9, duties include: 1. Serves as a Small Shop Chief performing all of the following tasks: a. Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s). b. Possesses the knowledge and skills found the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. c. Independently determines approprie maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimes manpower, equipment and merial requirements. d. Devises and maintains all program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. e. Plans, organizes and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. f. Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. g. May provide recommendions and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. 2. Performs the same type and level of work as performed within the unit. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a Title 32 excepted service position th requires membership in the Nebraska Army Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform daily. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Failure to obtain, within one year of appointment, and maintain the designed type of security clearance/background check required for the respective work may result in a job offer being rescinded, separions of employment, or other actions as may be deemed in the best interest of the agency. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Experience or training which demonstres the ability to follow instructions and safely opere the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the positionSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
WG-09:18 months experience or training which demonstres the ability to opere and perform operor maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approxime gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds. Experience demonstring ability to opere truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches. Experience opering vehicles over a variety of roads including interste highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades. Experience driving vehicles without mishap in compliced traffic situions. Educion This job does not have an educion qualificion requirement.
