Appliance Installer Associate Reports to:
Terminal Manager Position Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering and installing appliances and ensuring that all products are installed safely and correctly while meeting all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining vehicle and other equipment in association with installing appliances, completing paperwork, and denoting specific information on orders. Provide superior customer service and be able to calmly address people in stressful situations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
At the direction of the Lead Delivery Associate will oversee the completed delivery and installation of appliances throughout the entire process. Responsible for safely and effectively operating a two axle delivery truck while abiding all vehicle code regulations and laws with in the state which he or she is operating. This responsibility may be assigned to either the Lead Delivery Associate or the Helper Delivery Associate at the sole assignment of the Terminal Manager. Perform a daily inspection at the beginning and end of each shift with a daily vehicle inspection report to ensure safe operation and daily maintenance. Perform deliveries to retail, wholesale, and residential customers with one of the following: shoulder dolly straps, hand truck, and pallet jack. Install appliance to completion and ensure that the installation is up to current code. Keep accurate information on Bill of Ladings including services performed, adding or crediting of services, and gathering signatures. If for any reason and installation cannot be completed, an exception form must be filled out to communicate the issues to both internal and external customers. Immediately report any traffic infractions, property damage, and/or injury to Terminal Manager. Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers and clearly explain installation issues to potentially upset consumers. Accept any additional duties as assigned by Terminal Manager.
Summary of Experience and Education:
A High School Diploma or equivalency diploma such as a GED is required. Twelve months or more related experience and/or training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to communicate fluently in English e=verbally and in written form. Communication, inter-personal skills, strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under strict deadlines a must.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must have a valid State Driver's License, pass a background check and drug screen.
Travel:
Minimal to no travel is required other than travel to destinations for delivery.
Additional Information:
Must be a team player with a willingness to work in a diverse environment with respect to others opinions and display respect and professionalism at all times.
Physical Demands:
This position may require the Delivery Associate to lift/ngotiate up to 400 lbs. at a time as well as be on their feet for extended periods of time while squatting, bending, pulling or lifting. Also, must be able to maneuver, bend, squat and crawl while utilizing hand tools and other equipment. The Delivery Associate must be in good physical condition to complete these tasks and a physical may be required.
