Transition Specialist I / II Plymouth, MA From $22 an hour - Part-time From $22 an hour - Part-time Company Overview Smooth Transitions of the South Shore is a professional senior move management company , not a traditional moving company. We help older adults and their families navigate downsizing, relocation, and life transitions with organization, care, and respect. Position Overview The Transition Specialist supports seniors through all aspects of moving and settling into a new home. This is a hands-on role involving organizing, packing, unpacking, basic technology setup, and collaboration with a team to ensure a smooth and respectful transition for each client. This is a part time flexible position with the possibility of growth within the company. Job Roles & Responsibilities Assist clients with sorting, decluttering, packing, unpacking, and settling in Orient clients to the placement of personal belongings in their new residence Assist with household dispersal of remaining items (donation, disposal, relocation) Remove all packing supplies and leave residences clean and orderly Connect basic electronics (TVs, clocks, computers, etc.) Use a smartphone to navigate company apps for scheduling, notes, photos, and tasks Take clear photos and assist with online auction setup through a mobile app (training provided) Communicate with supervisors and team leads to prevent issues and enhance the move experience Maintain confidentiality and treat all belongings with care and respect Perform all tasks with safety, integrity, and attention to detail Other related duties as assigned Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills Professional, positive attitude with clients and coworkers Experience with organizing, packing, decluttering, or similar hands-on work Familiarity with packing essentials (tape, boxes, labeling, wrapping, etc.) Must have a smartphone and basic ability to use apps for work purposes Ability to take clear photos and follow app-based instructions Strong verbal communication skills Dependable, trustworthy, and able to work with discretion Ability to stand for long periods, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs Reliable transportation Travel compensation provided for applicable projects High school diploma or equivalent; additional education welcome Recommended (Preferred) Qualifications / Skills Experience working with seniors Experience in hands-on or client-focused roles where organization and care are important Strong visual attention to detail Comfortable and confident using everyday digital tools and technology CPR/First Aid certification Open to growing into additional responsibility or leadership over time Required Application Items & How to Apply To apply, please submit: Resume Brief note explaining your interest in the role Apply via Indeed or email: jmurphy@smoothtransitions.
