Job Description
Position Overview Fresh Start Furnishings, a program of Inner County Outreach (ICO), is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused Mover/Driver to assist with furniture deliveries, donation pickups, and household setup services throughout the community. This position plays a critical role in helping individuals and families transition into stable housing by delivering essential furnishings and household items. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork, and takes pride in making a positive impact in the lives of others. This is a physically active position that requires lifting, moving, loading, and unloading furniture while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate delivery vans, box trucks, and other agency vehicles. Load, transport, and deliver furniture, mattresses, appliances, and household items to client homes and community locations. Pick up donated furniture and household goods from donors, businesses, and community partners. Safely load and unload items using dollies, hand trucks, straps, and other moving equipment. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns. Maintain accurate delivery records, donation receipts, and transportation logs. Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed efficiently and professionally. Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients, donors, and community partners. Work collaboratively with team members and volunteers during moving and delivery projects. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment. Follow all safety procedures and organizational policies. Remain calm, respectful, and solution-oriented when addressing challenges or unexpected situations. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Must be insurable under the organization's vehicle insurance policy. Minimum age of 21 years old. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move 50 pounds or more on a regular basis. Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions. Experience driving delivery vehicles, cargo vans, or box trucks preferred. Previous moving, warehouse, logistics, furniture delivery, or transportation experience preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow directions, maintain schedules, and complete required documentation.
