Temporary Mover, Detroit Location Humble Design Chicago - 4.0 Southfield, MI Job Details Temporary $16 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Moving Driver's License Truck loading and unloading Straight truck Full Job Description Overview Humble Design Detroit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, serving families, veterans, and individuals emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a fully furnished home. We serve the tri-county Metro Detroit area from our warehouse located in Southfield, where we accept donations of gently used furniture and household goods from the community. We utilize those donated goods to create personalized home designs for our clients, which in turn fosters a sense of dignity and pride in their home. Our movers are the muscle of our organization. We could not do what we do without them! Movers are responsible for placing furniture into our clients' homes on "Deco Days". We fully furnish three homes each week. Our mover team is also responsible for picking up furniture donations from donor homes as well as assisting the Warehouse Manager with day-to-day tasks and organization in the warehouse as needed. Overall duties for the Temporary Mover position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Loading and unloading of furniture by hand or by use of dolly
  • Delivery of furniture to client homes on Deco Day
  • Assist with assembly of furniture as need on-site
  • Donation pick-ups: Drive to local donor homes for furniture pick-ups to be returned back to the Humble warehouse
  • Assist with warehouse inventory management and organization
  • Ability to lift heavy furniture five days per week Additional requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to drive our 17-foot Humble box truck (no special license needed)
  • Reliability, flexibility, punctuality

8:30am - 3:30pm Work days: Monday thru Friday No weekends

$16.00 per hour
