Compensation:
$17.00 / Hr Position Overview The Restoration / Contents Technician is responsible for assisting with the restoration, handling, cleaning, packing, transportation, and inventory of residential and commercial property contents affected by fire, water, mold, storm, or other property damage. This position plays a critical role in supporting restoration operations by ensuring damaged contents and furniture are safely removed, documented, cleaned, stored, and returned to the property in an organized and professional manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate and assist with the packing, unpacking, inventorying, labeling, transportation, and storage of customer contents and furniture. Safely move, load, unload, and transport furniture, boxes, equipment, and other contents weighing up to 70-75 pounds. Communicate professionally with property owners, customers, supervisors, insurance representatives, and team members regarding project progress and expectations. Participate in warehouse cleaning, organization, processing, and restoration of contents using approved cleaning methods and equipment. Assist with mitigation and emergency response services including water extraction, debris removal, demolition support, and emergency clean-up operations. Document damaged contents, maintain accurate inventory records, and complete required paperwork and reports. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, company vehicles, and work areas in clean and operational conditions. Follow proper lifting techniques and safety procedures while working in physically demanding environments. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of six (6) months of experience in general labor, moving, warehouse, restoration, construction, mitigation, or other heavy lifting/physically demanding work environments. Must successfully pass a state criminal background check and drug screening. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull furniture, equipment, boxes, and materials weighing up to 70-75 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to work flexible schedules including overtime, evenings, weekends, and emergency response assignments as needed. Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, subcontractors, and team members. Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of proper packing, inventory control, furniture handling, and contents cleaning procedures. Familiarity with restoration equipment, cleaning chemicals, hand tools, dollies, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment. Ability to read and complete work orders, inventory sheets, and project documentation accurately. Experience working directly with customers, property owners Knowledge of workplace safety practices, lifting techniques, and PPE requirements. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to adapt quickly and remain professional in high-stress or emergency response situations. Work Environment Position works in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment supporting residential and commercial restoration projects following fire, water, mold, storm, or other property damage. Work may be performed in homes, commercial buildings, warehouses, storage facilities, construction sites, and disaster-affected areas with exposure to dust, debris, moisture, smoke odors, mold, cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, and loud noise levels. This position regularly requires indoor and outdoor work in changing weather conditions and may involve working in confined spaces, stairwells, cluttered environments, or areas affected by structural damage. Employees may be required to work extended shifts, overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response assignments depending on project and disaster recovery needs. Physical and Mental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying furniture, boxes, equipment, and contents weighing up to 70-75 pounds. Must be able to load and unload trucks, move heavy items repeatedly throughout the workday, and operate hand tools, dollies, carts, pallet jacks, and restoration equipment. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and emotionally sensitive situations while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Employees must be able to prioritize tasks, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively with customers and team members, adapt quickly to changing job conditions, and maintain productivity in fast-paced environments. Strong problem-solving skills, time management, teamwork, and customer service abilities are essential for success in this role.
