Technicians and gain ALARNG membership, all current federal employees, all U.S. Citizens Duties Help 1. Performs preflight weher analysis, route and altitude selections, alterne airport selection, fuel, cargo and passenger load computions, selection of refueling stops, preflight inspections, flight plan filing, and firing ranges route planning/coordinion. Incorpores precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigion and instrument approaches in all mission planning and must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their operions. Maintains and studies current and complete files of aeronautical publicions, navigion charts, instrument approach procedures, and air traffic control procedures. (10%) 2. Serves as rotary wing Unit Trainer/Evaluor (UT/E) or Instructor Pilot (IP): Trains and evalues aviors on basic and advanced flight techniques. This includes the procedures to use in emergencies and malfunctions over rough terrain, e.g., hills and forests both day and night. Training includes instruction and evaluion for opering unique electronics equipment, such as precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigion and approaches. Conducts initial standardizion flight evaluions for new air crew members and annual evaluions for assigned and tached pilots, including local aircraft transitions including refresher training. (25%) 3. Performs one or more of the following major functional duties: (65%) a. Serves as rotary wing Instrument Flight Examiner (IE): Conducts instrument flight qualificions and training which includes, instrument flight planning, precision handling and maneuvering of the aircraft, navigion using the aircraft navigion instruments and systems, air traffic control operions, approach, departure, and holding procedures, and use of the ILS. Conducts initial instrument standardizion rides for new air crew members and as a minimum conducts annual check rides for assigned and tached pilots. b. Serves as rotary wing Standardizion Instructor Pilot (SIP): Trains and evalues IP's and provides technical supervision of the standardizion program. Ensures flight crew proficiency and qualificion records are standardized and kept current. c. Serves are Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner (ME)/Functional Check Pilot (FCP)
Evaluor:
Serves as rotary wing Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner/Function Check Pilot Evaluor. Trains and evalues ME/FCP's and provides technical supervision and standardizion of the maintenance program. Maintains requirements and performs function of technical inspector for aircraft assigned. Ensures ME/FCP pilot proficiency and qualificion records are standardized and kept current. Maintains requirements and performs function of technical inspector for aircraft assigned. d. Serves as Aviion Safety Officer (ASO): Serves as an Aviion Safety Officer (ASO) carrying out a variety of duties to provide a productive aviion safety program for the Aviion Classificion Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) or any Army Aviion Facility. If assigned this duty the individual is required to successfully complete training in accordance with Federal laws, DoD and Army regulions before assuming any safety duties. Provides guidance to the Facility Supervisor or Commander concerning all areas of safety to implement and monitor the safety program by conducting scheduled and unscheduled surveys, monitoring the flight schedule for crew assignments, reading approprie messages, distributing safety literure, planning, and faciliting safety meetings, and providing advice to the different divisions as needed. Maintains the safety HAZLOG. Responsible for the Army Aviion pre accident plan. Prepares for safety, environmental, hazardous communicion, occupional health, and other inspections. Responsible for the aviion safety stand-down in conjunction with the aviion units. e. Serves as rotary wing Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) and/or Functional Check Pilot (FCP). Incumbent performs general or limited maintenance test flights following maintenance modificions or repairs to include routine scheduled maintenance. Flights are made to determine the airworthiness of the aircraft and to ensure all systems/components are functioning within the maneuvers and loads prescribed in applicable aircraft maintenance manuals and regulions. f. Serves as an Aviion Mission Survivability Officer (AMSO) Tactical Operions (TACOPS) Officer. Will possess or obtain upon appointment the Skill Qualificion Identifier (SQI) "I". Manages the Aviion Mission Survivability (AMS) Program. Determines AMS Capability Gaps. Verifies Mission Configurion of Aircraft Situional Awareness Systems. Integres AMS into Unit Training Plans. Conducts AMS Planning. Integres AMS into Plans and Orders. Manages the Target, Track, and Loce (TTL) Systems. Conducts Personnel Recovery (PR) Training. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE
An applicant must have a competent understanding of the occupion's basic principles and concepts. Applicants should have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediely below the next higher level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Is experience th prepares the applicant to perform the Dual Stus technician duties and responsibilities. To qualify, an applicant's educional-degree study program, military professional and technical training schools or academies, and aviion certificions may apply as substitutions for some specialized experience factors. Army Nional Guard Dual Stus Warrant Officer positions. Qualificion competencies are determined by three factors: The aircraft opered; the nure and purpose of assignments; and, the degree of hazard. For Army Nional Guard positions, must have working experiences in civilian aviion programs; or, in military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities; or, in Air Nional Guard Wing/ Operions Groups. To qualify, the applicant must have least two years specialized competencies in opering a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning and mission preparion. Experienced in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experienced in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives. Educion Must have a high school diploma or general educion development (GED) diploma. An undergradue degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. Must have Federal Aviion Administrion certificions awarded from accredited civilian aviion programs or must have aviion certificions from accredited military aviion schools.
