Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation and aircraft maintenance, along with a passion for teaching and helping students succeed. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to engage students in a classroom setting. The Instructor will be responsible for developing curriculum and delivering lessons that adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future careers in aviation.

  • This position is responsible for administering and teaching courses included in the UND Aerospace Foundation's flight training programs. Applicant may be able to gain additional income by serving as an adjunct professor teaching part 141 and other courses in partnership with Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and report to the Chief Flight Instructor.
  • Teaching responsibilities may include: Private Pilot, Instrument procedures, Basic Aircraft Systems, Aerodynamics, and Multi-Engine operations, and any courses listed in our training course outlines.
Additional courses may include:
Airline operations, Crew Resource Management, ATP Preparation, Technical Aviation Communications, along with other courses as needed.
  • The successful applicant will have the ability to teach year round at the Phoenix Campus.
  • Opportunities for flight instruction may be available depending on experience.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
(knowledge, skills, abilities, education, training, and experience to be used in recruiting and selection for this position).
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 year associate's degree or equivalency, prefer in aviation education, or aviation related field.
  • Excellent communication skills required; verbal, written and presentation
  • FAA-issued flight instructor, instrument flight instructor, and multi-engine instructor certificates or equivalent ground instructor certificates.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office projects, internet, email and other computer skills required.
  • Willingness to work the hours required hours to achieve desired results; schedule flexibility is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer experience in crew environment, airline industry, and/or aircraft over 10,000 lbs.
  • Prefer experience in working with international and collegiate students
