Flight Lab Instructor
  • Part-time Instructor (Pool) Clarksville, TN Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) Certificate Flight simulator instruction Flying helicopters Certified Flight Instructor Federal Aviation Regulations Loading Senior level Associate's degree Teaching experience within aviation industry Teaching Aircraft fueling Full Job Description The Part-time Flight Lab Instructor is responsible to the Program Director/ Chief Pilot for performing duties assigned.
As a certified pilot, the Part-time Flight Lab Instructor Pilot is required to pilot the aircraft in accordance with all applicable FAA regulations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to: Serve as Pilot in Command and Instructor Pilot of Robinson R44 and Guimbal G2 Cabri helicopters;
  • Duties will be performed at Clarksville Regional Airport (KCKV). Occasional travel may be involved (ferry flights);
  • Performs other duties as required to include, but not limited to responsibilities in support of the following: Conducting flight training to include Flight Training Device (FTD) instruction; Conducting maintenance check flights.

PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT MEDIUM
  • Exert up to 50 lbs.
of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently to flight control surfaces. Must be able to move and load 50 lbs. of materials without assistance or use of additional equipment in a timely manner. Must have and maintain FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
CLIMBING
  • Ascending or descending ladders using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces; when performing duties on top or under the aircraft as part of preflight, post flight, or emergency exit of aircraft.
STOOPING
  • Bending body downward and forward.
This factor is important as it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles to enter and exit aircraft cockpits and performing emergency exit actions.
CROUCHING
  • Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine in order to inspect the underside of aircraft and interior as part of preflight or post flight duties.
HANDLING
  • Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand and fingers to perform numerous preflight, in-flight and post flight tasks.
DIGITAL DEXTERITY
  • Working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole arm or hand as required for keypad entry of flight management systems.
EXPOSURE TO WEATHER
  • Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather while performing preflight, in-flight and post flight operations and exterior ramp activities. NOISE
  • Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss.
Performing flight operations and conducting exterior ramp operations such as preflight, post flight, and aircraft fueling. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in any field, or associates degree in aviation or closely related field; Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours, and travel as required in support of mission requirements; Able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver's license; Valid and current Rotorcraft Helicopter CFII certificate;
  • Current second class FAA medical certificate;
  • No previous aviation accident record; No previous suspension or revocation of pilot designation(s) or rating(s) (e.g., FAA and military). The following current FAA ratings are required:
  • Certified Flight Instructor
  • Helicopter
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
Helicopter MINIMUM Required Experience:
500 hours logged total pilot time; 50 hours as an instructor;
Preferred Minimum Experience:
1000 hours logged total pilot time; 500 hours as an instructor to include 100 hours of instrument instruction; Experience conducting primary through advanced flight training for student pilots; Experience in both R44 and Guimbal G2 Cabri; 50 hours in the Robinson family of helicopters; A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
