Job Description

Master 200 GRT Near Coastal Captains License Homer, AK 99603 $1,000 a day - Contract $1,000 a day - Contract Sea Level Assets is seeking a Captain for its newly acquired landing craft, the Arctic Seal. Both the owners of Sea Level Assets and the vessel Arctic Seal have significant history supporting remote work in Alaska. Combining this ownership team with a proven vessel creates a unique opportunity for the right candidate. An inaugural Captain will make a competitive wage while helping to build a system with their own professional acumen. Job Requirements An ideal fit would have experience managing passengers, freight operations in remote areas, and local knowledge of the complex environment of Alaska. Work is project based and will vary every operational season. This job is suited well to someone who values creativity, latitude in their judgement, the pristine environment of Alaska, a dynamic workflow, and high wages compared to the lower 48. Anticipated operational season is April through November with sporadic breaks as the work allows. Crew development and training of a capable Chief Mate will create more flexible work balance. We operate in remote locations and as a team of adventurers we function as a composite crew and tasks may fall outside of standard industry roles. Compensation $1,000/day + $20/hour cargo time Day rate begins and ends at home airport Flights to and from home airport Company credit card for travel expenses Seasonal bonus structure USCG License Renewal reimbursement Possible winter maintenance work Requirements Applicants must posses a valid Master 200 GRT Near Coastal License Proficient in maneuvering vessel through confined areas, in strong current valid US drivers license Pass a background check Pass pre-employment and random drug testing Experience operating heavy equipment
