Position Available When Vaced // AFTER 31 JULY 2026 Duties Help As a SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT PILOT
(TITLE 32), GS-2181-14, you will function as the commander of an AASF. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Manage and direct the activities and functions of the AASF in support of the ste mission which includes flight operions; proficiency training of aviors and crewmembers; aviion safety; and the organizional, direct support, and limited general support maintenance of all assigned aircraft. Oversee the training operions of assigned or tached aircrew members through a subordine supervisor. Oversee the aviion maintenance functions through a subordine Supervisory Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot and ensure maintenance of assigned and supported aircraft in accordance with established procedures. Make decisions on work problems presented by subordine supervisors. Collabore with heads of other units to negotie, decide on, and/or coordine work-reled changes affecting other units not personally supervised. Hear and resolve group grievances and serious employee complaints not resolved a lower level. Plans work to be accomplished by the organizion which consists of 3 to 12 employees engaged in substantive work and additional wage grade employees. Set priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordine units based on priorities, selective considerion of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Review, accept, amend or reject work which has been reviewed by subordine supervisors. Give advice, counsel, or instruction to supervisors and subordine employees on both work and administrive mters. Review serious disciplinary cases and disciplinary problems involving key employees and determine required action. : GS-14 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 36 months working experience in civilian aviion programs or military service aviion programs; experience in piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following main-frame/military aircraft: Fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft; the ability to train and instruct others in the piloting of a specified main-frame military aircraft; experience in reading and applying mission tasks, intelligence reports, and weher informion; experience in supervising and conducting mission planning, mission preparions, filing flight plans, and conducting crew briefings; experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning; experience in opering aircraft controls and equipment; experience in performing and supervising the work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling; search and rescue operions; and, surveillance and reconnaissance missions; experience in conducting and supervising crew member training on simple to complex mission specific task; experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and briefing commanders; experience in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft opering procedures, and mission tactics; experience in planning and preparing for missions; and, experience in piloting and instructing others in piloting specific air-frame/military aircraft; experience in various piloting administrive tasks performed in support of Army aviion programs; experience in aviion unit quality control management programs; experience in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Nional Guard Bureau and Occupional Safety and Health Administrion directives; experience in applying directives, regulions, accident reports, safety da, and local opering conditions to determine unit safety program requirements; experience in flying operions and coordining with approprie agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulions and programs; experience in one or more missions such as, air-to-air; air-to-ground; mortar-to-arm escort; surveillance; reconnaissance; surface tack; killer-scout; target illuminion; or laser targeting; experience in traditional "stick and rudder" type controls for piloting aircraft direction, altitude, and speed; experience in using aircraft instrumention and aircraft mounted video cameras; experience in visual flight-rule type flying and aircraft instrument flying; experience in flying simuled "real world" comb and non-comb missions and terrain; experience in planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) controlled nional airspace; experience in applying operional directives, training directives, instructions, standard opering procedures; experience in performing aviion duties such as, cancelling flying activities; diverting aircraft; dicting mission requirements; approving specific activities; coordining for airport or airspace utilizion with FAA; and directing emergency actions th involved unit support agencies; experience in using applicable Army aviion regulions, policies, requirements and standards, skills and practices; and, the applicion of instructional techniques to the training of other pilots in the Army Nional Guard (ARNG) flying facilities; experience in conducting particular comb or non-comb training missions and flying specific main-frame aircraft in comb tactics, flying in mountainous terrain, performing tactical remote site evaluions, performing landings on remote sites, providing ground and flight training, and conducting night-vision operions or instructions; experience in standardizion and evaluion programs, written ground examinions, emergency procedures, and aircrew performance standards in accordance with applicable directives and FAA certificion requirements; experience in reviewing and complying with applicable service flight publicions and directives for accuracy and currency; experience on weaponry and comb or non-comb tactics for applicable military aircraft; experience with wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements used for unit mobilizions, deployments, strange field operions, or troop missions and redeployments; experience in piloting and instructing in accordance with applicable Army aviion regulions, policies, requirements, standards, skills and practices;
