SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT
PILOT, GS-2181-14, you will Manage and direct the activities and functions of the AASF, in support of the ste or nional aviion training missions which include flight operions (AASF); instructing courses on flight operions (WAATS/EAATS) proficiency training of aviors and crewmembers (AASF); qualificion training of aviors and crewmembers; aircraft mechanics (WAATS/EAATS); aviion safety; and the organizional, direct support, and limited general support maintenance of all assigned aircraft. Plan work to be accomplished by the organizion which consists of 3 to 12 employees engaged in substantive work and additional wage grade employees. Set priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordine units based on priorities, selective considerion of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Collabore with heads of other units to negotie, decide on, and/or coordine work-reled changes affecting other units not personally supervised. Advise officials with broader and higher responsibilities on problems involving the relionship of the work of the organizion supervised to broader programs, and its impact on such programs. Evalue supervisors and reviews evaluions made by supervisors on other employees. Oversee the training operions of assigned or tached aircrew members through a subordine supervisor. Oversee the aviion maintenance functions through a subordine Supervisory Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot and ensure maintenance of assigned and supported aircraft in accordance with established procedures. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have three years' working experience in civilian aviion programs; or military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve component); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities? Qualificion competencies are determined by three factors; The aircraft opered; the nure and purpose of assignments; and the degree of hazard. Do you have experience in piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following main-frame/military aircraft: Fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA). Experience in supervising and conducting mission planning, mission preparions, filing flight plans, and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning. Experience in opering aircraft controls and equipment. Experience in performing and supervising the work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling; search and rescue operions; and surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Experience in conducting and supervising crew member training on simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experience in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft opering procedures, and mission tactics. Experience in planning and preparing for missions; and, experience in piloting and instructing others in piloting specific airframe/military aircraft. Experience in various piloting administrive tasks performed in support of Army or Air Nional Guard aviion programs. Experience in aviion unit quality control management programs. Experience in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of the Air Force, Nional Guard Bureau, and Occupional Safety and Health Administrion directives. Experience in applying directives, regulions, accident reports, safety da, and local opering conditions to determine unit safety program requirements. Experience in flying operions and coordining with approprie agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulions and programs. Experience in visual flight-rule type flying and aircraft instrument flying. Experience in flying simuled "real world" comb and non-comb missions and terrain. Experience in planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviion Administrion controlled nional airspace. Experience in applying operional directives, training directives, instructions, standard opering procedures, and special instructions of Nional Guard Bureau, United Stes Army or United Stes Air Force, and gaining commands. Experience in working independently to plan and perform work assignments. Experience in completing safe and efficient mission accomplishments through the use of Operional Risk Management. Experience in performing aviion duties such as, cancelling flying activities; diverting aircraft; dicting mission requirements; approving specific activities; coordining for airport or airspace utilizion with FAA; and directing emergency actions th involved unit support agencies. Experience in using applicable Army or Air Force aviion regulions, policies, requirements and standards, skills and practices; and the applicion of instructional techniques to the training of other pilots in the Army Nional Guard flying facilities or Air Nional Guard wings. Knowledge of full-cycle theory, skill in conducting formal classroom instruction, and skill in actual flight practice are required. Educion An undergradue degree from an accredited college/university is mandory . A Gradue Degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military educion school is optimum . Must have Federal Aviion Administrion certificions awarded from accredited civilian aviion programs OR must have aviion certificions from accredited military aviion schools.
