Responsibilities Job Details/Position Summary Overview:
Provides line services in support of flight operations. These services include servicing, cleaning, fueling, defueling, blade wash, moving and securing of aircraft. Will be required to operate ground support equipment during daily routine. Services are primarily performed outdoors. Must complete training program and be certified in writing as a Plane Captain Helper and required to re- qualify annually. May be required to use hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties. Limited use of hand tools which normally include screwdrivers, flashlights and tools necessary to assist with engine rinses and aircraft washes. Must display a good working knowledge of assigned aircraft and servicing requirements. Must acquire a good working knowledge of inspection requirements. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
SHALL NOT
perform Daily/Turnaround Inspections, launching and recovery of aircraft (EXCEPT in accordance with CBA Training Article.)
Major Job Activities Description:
+ Perform fueling operations using gravity fill and closed-circuit refueling methods. + Notify Plane Captain immediately of any leaks or discrepancies seen. + Act as a member of an aircraft moving crew when assigned. + Perform aircraft washing and lubrication when assigned. + Assists with servicing aircraft oil and hydraulic systems as required. + Act as a member of the engine rinse team when under instruction. + Be familiar with and operate portable firefighting equipment. + Use provided personal protective equipment when using hazardous materials. Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area. + Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations. + Responsible for the compliance with the Tool Control Program. + Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment. + Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems. + Must possess personal tools required to perform the work in the classification. + When assigned to outlying fields, maintain a communications link with line supervisory personnel and the on-site crash crew. + Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory, and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment. + Perform other related duties within the job classification.
Working Environment:
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
Physical Activities:
Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking, and working in tiring uncomforable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
Qualifications Qualifications Education/Certifications:
One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + Aircraft Plane Captain Helper Certification + Aircraft Towing Certification + GSE Licensing• + Airfield Operators License + Valid State Driver License + Physical as required by
NAVAIR 3710.1
Series + Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. + Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Formal Schooling Required # Limited (Task Specific)
Experience:
+ Must have one (1) year general aviation experience, preferably in contract, military or commercial equivalent. + Must have basic mechanical aptitude. + Must be able to pass comprehensive testing, demonstrate practical knowledge after training and successfully complete examination to become a qualified Plane Captain Helper within 30 + Workdays. + Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement
