Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver to join our Day Treatment Program (DTA). In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children and adolescents to and from the program, ensuring punctuality, safety, and a positive experience for all passengers. Your role will support the overall well-being of our participants by providing reliable transportation services that foster a nurturing and structured environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals while utilizing your driving expertise and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of vehicles including buses, vans, or specialized transport vehicles to transport children and youth enrolled in the program. Ensure all transportation activities comply with traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical safety and cleanliness before each use. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs. Communicate effectively with staff, caregivers, and participants to coordinate schedules and address any transportation concerns. Assist children during boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed to ensure their safety and comfort. Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents during transit, following established protocols to ensure safety. Requirements Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and vehicle maintenance basics. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse populations. Experience working with children or adolescents in childcare or behavioral management settings is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify vehicle issues early and coordinate repairs when necessary. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with professionalism and patience in a dynamic environment. Prior experience in paratransit or senior care transportation is advantageous but not required. $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
