Job Description

You'll work side-by-side with one participant who's chasing a real goal a job, a class at college, their first apartment, or learning the trolley well enough to get anywhere on their own. Every day is built around what your participant wants to do, not a schedule we picked.

Plan each day around what your participant wants to work on Help your participant find a job — searching, applying, practicing interviews, and being there with them at work until they can do it on their own Help with school — finding their way around campus, signing up for disability services, studying, and speaking up to teachers when they need help Teach real-life skills one-on-one — budgeting, using a bank, grocery shopping, cooking, and getting ready to live on their own Teach them how to ride the trolley and bus safely — including what to do if they get lost, miss a stop, or the bus is late Write clear notes after each session about what they worked on and how they did Let your participant make their own choices — even when you might do things differently Plan each day around what your participant wants to work on Help your participant find a job — searching, applying, practicing interviews, and being there with them at work until they can do it on their own Help with school — finding their way around campus, signing up for disability services, studying, and speaking up to teachers when they need help Teach real-life skills one-on-one — budgeting, using a bank, grocery shopping, cooking, and getting ready to live on their own Teach them how to ride the trolley and bus safely — including what to do if they get lost, miss a stop, or the bus is late Write clear notes after each session about what they worked on and how they did Let your participant make their own choices — even when you might do things differently You need High school diploma 2+ years supporting adults with developmental disabilities ( Preferred) CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before starting) Valid California driver's license, current insurance, reliable transportation Clear background check Comfortable documenting on a tablet or laptop Big plus Job coaching, transition, or supported employment experience Familiarity with Regional Center documentation What we offer 5-hour paid orientation before you start direct service 10+ hours of ongoing training each year A mission-driven, community-based team mileage reimbursement
Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
