Transporter

Position Summary The Transporter is responsible for safely transporting youth in foster care to and from family visits, medical appointments, school, court hearings, and other approved destinations. This position plays a supportive role in ensuring timely and reliable transportation while maintaining a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed environment for all foster youth served. The Transporter helps fulfill Agape Villages' commitment to ensuring continuity of care and connection for foster children and resource families.

Qualifications Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or youth preferred Experience in transportation, driving services, or customer service is a plus

Additional Requirements:

Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record Access to a reliable, safe, clean, and insured personal vehicle Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background check and Child Abuse Index clearance Must possess and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification at all times Must complete and maintain a current health screening and TB test clearance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong time management and communication skills Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis situations or delays Key Responsibilities Transportation Services Ensure that foster youth are transported in accordance with safety laws and agency policies, including proper use of car seats or booster seats when applicable Provide safe and timely transportation of youth to appointments, visits, or court appearances Maintain appropriate supervision of youth at all times during transport Maintain professionalism, patience, and trauma-informed care when interacting with youth, resource families, and staff Scheduling & Communication Coordinate travel arrangements with social workers and resource parents Communicate promptly regarding transportation needs, delays, or changes to schedules Maintain accurate records of all transports, including pick-up/drop-off times, mileage, visitation supervision notes, and incident reports when needed Vehicle Safety & Compliance Ensure vehicle is clean, safe, and in good working condition prior to each transport Report any accidents, vehicle issues, or safety concerns immediately to a supervisor Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency transportation protocols Supportive Engagement Build positive rapport with foster youth while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries Support youth by helping them feel safe, respected, and heard during transport Report behavioral concerns, disclosures, or observations to the social worker or supervisor Flexibility & Availability Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays Willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area, Central Valley, and surrounding regions Willingness to assist in other program-related errands or support tasks Team Participation Attend mandatory staff meetings and complete assigned trainings as required

Pay:

$23.62 per hour
