As a vital link in our community, you will operate specialized vehicles designed to accommodate passengers with diverse needs, including seniors, persons with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care. Your role is to ensure each passenger's journey is comfortable, safe, and respectful while demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through dependable transportation. Responsibilities Safely operate paratransit vehicles, including buses and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support for those with mobility or health challenges. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness before each shift. Communicate effectively with passengers, including those who are multilingual or require special assistance, demonstrating patience and understanding. Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger details, and vehicle maintenance logs. Follow all operational procedures related to behavior management and customer service to ensure a positive experience for every rider. Collaborate with dispatchers and supervisors to coordinate schedules and respond promptly to route changes or emergencies. Experience Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving preferred. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is advantageous. Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals requiring special care enhances your suitability for this role. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of behavior management techniques for handling challenging situations onboard vehicles. Valid driver's license appropriate for operating large vehicles; a clean driving record is essential.
