  • Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and flexible On Call Driver to join our transportation team.
In this role, you will provide prompt, safe, and courteous transportation services on an as-needed basis, ensuring passengers or deliveries reach their destinations efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional customer service to contribute to a dynamic organization. As an On Call Driver, your primary responsibility is to be available to respond quickly to transportation requests, whether for special transportation needs. Responsibilities Respond promptly to transportation requests via phone or dispatch system, providing reliable on-demand service. Operate our commercial vehicle with safety and professionalism. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness. Load and unload cargo or equipment carefully, often requiring heavy lifting and proper handling techniques. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle condition reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues efficiently. There may be overnight stays paid for by our company. This would only be once in a while when needed. Qualifications Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles within commercial or passenger transportation. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type. DOT card will be required. Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and handle physical tasks safely. Experience with vehicle maintenance routines and troubleshooting minor issues is preferred. Prior experience in paratransit or school bus driving is a plus but not required.
