Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a responsible, mature driver who exemplifies professionalism, reliability, and safety. In this vital role, you will be entrusted with transporting passengers and goods with care and integrity, ensuring a positive experience for clients and community members alike. Your dedication to safe driving practices, excellent communication, and respectful service will help foster trust and dependability in every journey. This position offers an opportunity to serve diverse populations, including children, seniors, and individuals requiring specialized transportation services. Duties Safely operate various types of vehicles including school buses, paratransit vans, and commercial vehicles to transport passengers or goods efficiently. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every trip. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support especially when working with children or seniors. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections. Conduct routine vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues early and coordinate necessary repairs with maintenance teams. Communicate effectively with passengers, clients, or team members using clear English or multilingual skills as needed. Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times to promote a positive image of the organization. Skills Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a strong understanding of transportation safety standards. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse communities. Ability to work well with children, seniors, or individuals requiring specialized care; demonstrated patience and behavior management skills are essential. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle checks and troubleshoot minor issues confidently. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. Knowledge of paratransit operations or teaching experience related to transportation is a plus. Writing skills for completing logs, reports, and documentation accurately; familiarity with child care or senior care protocols is advantageous. Pay:
$15.00 - $34.50 per hour
