Job Description

Help connect people to recreation opportunities across Missoula. As a Recreation Transportation Facilitator , you'll provide safe, reliable transportation for program participants while creating a positive and welcoming environment. This role is essential in helping individuals access recreational programs and activities by ensuring transportation is dependable, supportive, and participant-focused. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, values safety, and takes pride in providing excellent service. If you are dependable, patient, and comfortable driving in a variety of conditions, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the community. This position will remain open until filled . Priority screening will begin on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
To Apply:
A ll applicants must submit the City of Missoula application. Resumes will not be reviewed. All details should be entered on the application. Pick-up and drop-off program participants at designated locations. Follow a planned route according to schedule Help participants into and out of the vans. Install car seats/booster seats when needed. Obey traffic laws and state/federal transit regulations. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, such as check tires, lights, fluids, etc. Perform other duties as assigned, based on training and qualifications. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations. Skill in driving in different types of conditions. Skill in promoting positive and safe environments. Skill in communicating, in person and writing, with the proven ability to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with diverse individuals. Ability to maintain and foster a culture of professionalism, adhere to departmental and City standards and specifications, and support a positive team environment. Ability to accept criticism and resolve conflicts with facilitating outcomes while maintaining a calm demeanor. Ability to learn departmental and City of Missoula practices and procedures.
Working Conditions:
Positions require the ability to lift 50 lbs. or less Work environment may involve occasional exposure to unavoidable seasonal weather conditions, occupational hazards, biohazards, and physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Must have at least one (1) year of work-related driving experience. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a valid Montana driver's license with a verified acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check. Must have CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
