Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a motor coach and related equipment for the ECMC. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Executive Director or his/her designee.
Qualifications Education:
High school degree or equivalent
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in the operation of a motor coach, or bus
License/Registration/Certification:
Possession of a New York State Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Transport (P) Endorsement at time of application and maintenance throughout duration of employment.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, defensive driving techniques, and maintaining a clean driving record are required Proficiency in conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, recognizing safety issues, performing minor maintenance (fluid checks, fueling, basic repairs), and ensuring vehicle readiness for operation. Essential Functions Operates motor coach as regularly scheduled or dispatched and determines routes to be taken to/from for destinations Assists in coordinating destination planning and coordinating trip logistics Inspects motor coach prior to/after operation, performs minor repairs and maintains physical condition as required to include fueling vehicle, routinely checking fluid levels/pressures and ensuring vehicle current inspection Coordinates removal and plug-in of shore power to/from motor coach with Plant Operations Department Performs or ensures performance of sanitation pump-out on a weekly basis or as needed Documents driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, repairs, inspection information, etc. as required Assists in loading and unloading of equipment Attends meetings and trainings as required.
