JOB SUMMARY
The Veterans Outreach Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the department's administrative operations. This will include preparing check and purchase orders, greeting incoming guest/or clients, maintaining records, coordinating and planning events, programs and opportunities for the veterans of Tulalip. Will maintain the department's facility ensuring access to veterans, Clean and maintain weapons for the department, oversee and implement military traditions for the community. The position will also provide rides to doctors appointments and help veterans get connection with Veterans Administration. The Outreach Specialist will be required to facilitate and participate in all Honor/Color Guards when the Tulalip Veterans department is called upon.
COMPENSATION
$25.31hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of enlisted or commissioned military service. One (1) year of computer experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs. One (1) year of experience in customer service.
SKILLS TESTING
Typing 25 WPM
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
Must be an enrolled Tulalip Tribal Member. Must be an honorably discharged Veteran. (DD-214 Required) WA State Driver License. Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required) Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Accreditation. •Will allow one (1) year to obtain. Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray. CPR/First Aid certificate. •Will allow six (6) months to obtain. HIPAA certification upon hire. Must complete an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a regular Part-Time position.
