PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Join our Engineering team in Saratoga Springs, NY, and help ensure the safe coordination of construction activities on active railway property. As a Right of Way professional, you'll be responsible for providing critical On Track Safety oversight, ensuring employees and contractors comply with railway operating rules and clear work zones ahead of approaching trains. Your efforts will minimize disruptions to rail traffic and play a key role in maintaining efficient and safe infrastructure operations. This full-time position is primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional night shifts as required.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Conduct daily job briefings in order that all contractors understand site specific instructions prior to commencing work Review the work site, consult with Supervisor and or contractors to understand work being conducted, and any potential hazards to train operations Oversee and implement safety protocols for individuals positioned within 25 feet of the track or in any area where they may be exposed to on-track hazards Set up, reposition and dismantle railway specific signals (flags) at designated locations Communicate with supervisors and team members using various methods, ensuring adherence to all safety and operational procedures Promptly secure the area, identify and document witnesses, and notify the appropriate authorities in the event of personal injury or property damage Embrace CPKC's safety culture by consistently following company policies and procedures to ensure you go home safely each day Perform related administrative duties and proper documentationPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general equivalency Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver's license Minimum of 1 year of traffic control or construction experience is preferred, not mandatory Available to work a standard 40-hour week, with flexibility for overtime, on-call duty, alternate shifts, and night schedules as necessary Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe mannerWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER
