Airboat Operator- Position Overview
- We are seeking a skilled and personable
- Airboat Operator
- to provide exceptional experiences for guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role involves operating airboats for tours, ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent customer service, and adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Key Responsibilities
Safe Airboat Operation:
- Navigate and operate airboats in a variety of weather and water conditions.
- Conduct pre
- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vessel is in proper working condition.
- Follow all safety guidelines, local regulations, and company policies.
Customer Service:
- Welcome guests warmly and provide engaging commentary during tours, including information about the local environment, wildlife, and history.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout the tour experience.
Safety and Emergency Preparedness:
- Provide clear safety instructions to guests before each tour.
- Monitor passengers during tours to ensure compliance with safety rules.
- Respond calmly and effectively to any emergency situations.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the airboat to maintain operational standards.
- Report any mechanical or safety issues promptly to the maintenance team.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Promote environmental awareness and respect for local wildlife and ecosystems.
- Operate the airboat in an environmentally conscious manner, minimizing disruption to habitats.
- Qualifications and Skills
- Valid captain license and airboat certification .
- Proven experience in operating airboats or similar vessels.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations for vessel operation.
- Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills to enhance guest experience.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Physically fit and capable of handling outdoor conditions, including heat, sun, and water exposure.
- Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in a tour guide or customer-facing role.
- Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and history.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic boat maintenance.
- Working Conditions
- Outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical activity, including boarding guests and operating vessels for extended periods.
