Anita Dee Yacht Charters is a premier provider of luxury yacht experiences, offering unforgettable events and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced First Mates to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will work alongside the Captain to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel and the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Position Overview:
The First Mate serves as the Assistant Captain and a key leader within the crew, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, directing staff, and ensuring that all event-related tasks are executed seamlessly. The First Mate will work closely with the Captain, taking direction to ensure the vessel is fully prepared and operational for each event. As the staff leader during events, the First Mate will be expected to interact with clients and manage crew duties to ensure the highest standard of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Captain in maintaining vessel operations, ensuring the yacht and its systems are in excellent working order. Ensure compliance with USCG rules and regulations, ensuring the vessel meets all safety standards. Act as the primary point of contact for vessel staff, directing and supervising crew during events in line with company policies. Conduct thorough walkthroughs of the vessel (interior and exterior), identifying and addressing any issues prior to events. Oversee and perform daily machinery checks, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly to the maintenance department. Ensure that all staff are in uniform and trained to meet company expectations. Lead the exterior cleaning and preparation of the vessel before events. Ensure proper execution of all closing procedures in accordance with company policy. Perform general vessel maintenance as needed. Provide leadership to the crew, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in staff management, ideally within the marine or hospitality industry. At least 2 years of experience as part of a marine crew on a commercial vessel. Strong customer service skills, with a minimum of 2 years in a client-facing role. Proficient in vessel systems and maintenance practices. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
$25.00 +
Hourly Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
