Job Description

Company DescriptionGrow your career with Ingram Marine Group. We are looking for a Port Mate in the Sauget, IL area. You'll have variety on every shift supporting vessels, maintaining docks, and keeping things moving.

Job DescriptionThis role involves transporting crew members and supplies to nearby vessels, as well as maintaining the grounds and vehicles used by Ingram Associates. Candidates must reside in the Sauget area.

What you will be doing:

Transporting/Coordinating crew members and supplies to company vessels via crew boatCoordinating boardings to vessels for service techniciansGeneral upkeep of dock landing barges and crew boatsOverseeing dock string re-spuddingMaintaining the facility and parking area for appearance and operationSecurity for office, company equipment, and vessel personnel parked vehiclesSupporting Custom Fuel ServiceMonitoring inventory of landing for restockOverseeing light duty personnel at timesSupporting vessel crew membersOverseeing Fire Extinguisher Program for all IBCO vesselsTracking onboard rigging inventoryOverseeing maintenance of crew boatsOverseeing and participating in re-spudding of the fleet and dock barge when moving due to changing river conditionsSupporting all departments after hours with a priority for crew dispatch and our warehouseEnsuring all vessels at docks are secureResponsible for housekeeping needs when they ariseInspecting shore wires and other fleet securement systemsSupporting department activities with regular and prompt attendanceUtilizing Helm for facility inspections, safety meetings, and drills
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills are a must.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

At least one year of experience is preferred.

A Forklift certification is required.

TWIC required.

A valid driver's license is required.
Additional InformationWorking Environment and Conditions:
Able to bend, stoop and stand for long periods of timeAble to frequently lift, hold, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 poundsAble to safely enter and exit confined spaces, climb ladders up to 70 feet and negotiate uneven and moving surfacesAble to meet weight and size limits outlined in equipment safety guidelinesAble to board and ride in skiffs/crew boat in order to reach vesselsAble to hear, understand and communicate instructions in English, particularly in emergency situationsAble to work in extreme weather (i.e. heat, cold, snow)Able to work in a fast-paced environmentIn extreme circumstances, may need to lift, hold, or carry equipment weighing up to 85 lbs.
Pay:
