Ferryboat Operations Manager A

The overall function of this position is to assist the Ferryboat Operations Manager B with overall ferry operations at Cameron/Holly Beach Ferry crossing. Specifically, to manage crew shift schedules and assignments as well as operational readiness and proper maintenance of the ferry fleet assigned to the Cameron/Holly Beach ferry crossing. Five years of experience in marine operations or maritime industry operations; OR Possession of a current U.S. Coast Guard officer's credential as a Master or Chief Engineer.

NOTE:

Job Duties:

Be able to interpret DOTD and Coast Guard rules and regulations and understand electrical and mechanic and hydraulic systems. Directs the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all areas of the ferry operations. Schedules and attends all annual and quarterly USCG inspections on ferry vessels at his/her ferry location. Trains and performs practice drills with crew members for numerous incident scenarios such as main-overboard, suspicious passengers, etc. as well as maintaining current all drills and plans required by USCG for vessel security and serves as alternate facility security officer.
