Job Description

For more information, please visit www.vikingmarineco.com This position will require overnight travel in the Great Lakes area. The majority of dredging jobs performed will be for the USACE (United States Army Corps of Engineers) and Davis-Bacon Act wages do apply on those contracts. •Davis-Bacon Act Wages are determined by position. The wages in this posting is for yard scale pay. Yard scale is paid when we are not actively dredging on a USACE contract. Please email resumes to Vice President, Jeremy Burch - jeremyb@vikingmarineco.com Description Communicate with Dredge Operator, other Boat Operators and barge loader to coordinate dredge movements. Ensures anchor and buoy lines are repaired, oiled, greased, and in good operating condition. Secures Mooring Lines to vessels. Assists in monitoring the condition of wire cables, winches, pulleys, blocks, pipeline and mooring fixtures. Couples and aligns sections of dredge pipelines to assure efficient discharge of silt from waterway. Sets anchors to secure submerged pipelines. Complete Daily Boat Maintenance Log/Checklist is Mandatory Comply with safety practices, rules, and regulations while performing job duties and follow company procedure in reporting unsafe conditions or practices. Assist in performing maintenance as needed. Assist with washing and maintaining boats and equipment in proper working order. Keep work areas clean and organized. Work as a team and fulfill any and all other duties and tasks as assigned. Safely Operate and maintain workboats and tender/skiffs. Requirements 3 to 5 years of experience in dredging or marine construction (preferred but not required). Must be able to travel. OSHA Certification a plus. Boating or Equipment Certifications a plus. A Valid Driver's License is required to be maintained throughout your employment. Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required. Be honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and have a positive attitude.

Occasionally will sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Frequently will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell. Lift and/or
Move Functions:
Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.

$24.00 - $29.00 per hour
